Domino's review

I have been using Jonathan Yeagle and Yeagle Contracting for my Domino’s Pizza remodels and new store construction jobs since 2014.  I have worked with and used many different contractors over my 30-year span in Domino’s Pizza, but I have stuck with Jonathan and Yeagle Contracting for the last 8 years for many reasons.  The first and biggest reason is that Jonathan is someone that I can trust.  You don’t start a business with the intention of doing work for a loss, I want to make money when I sell pizzas and Jonathan doesn’t want to do work for a loss either, he needs to make money to stay in business.  There are many contractors that try to make as much money as they can from each job often charging outrageous prices for the simplest of things. Jonathan is extremely fair and upfront when he prices jobs since he wants not just this job, but all my future work, or any clients future work as well. He prices jobs in a fair and consistent manner to earn my trust and make money not just from this job but from all my future jobs as well.

Until you’ve done several remodels and/or new construction builds you don’t realize that all contractors bid a job and price out the work based upon the blueprints they are given.  As a client you learn that all the work you do with an architect prior to getting a bid is every bit as important, if not more important than any other phase of the construction process. When working with your architect picking out your finishes can be every bit as important as laying out the building the way you want it.  I’ve used some great architects and I’ve used some that I shouldn’t have.  The blueprints are 100% what Jonathan, or any contractor goes by when bidding and completing a job.  If you don’t do your due diligence making sure everything in the plans is exactly the way you want it from lay out, paint colors, types of lights, types of diffusers, and even if you want hollow core or solid doors you will get what is listed in the plans or you will have to pay to change it.

Another reason I use Jonathan exclusively now is because he is a man of integrity.  Some jobs I’ve done with Jonathan there have been small things here or there that the blueprint called for something that a sub-contractor missed and used the wrong product, so Jonathan ate the cost on it since it was listed and specifically called for in the blueprint.  Other jobs I’ve decided to make changes as I watched a project progress, and I felt the need to make a change I couldn’t foresee when I was working with the architect on the blueprints.  Each time this has happened Jonathan explained to me how my changes would impact the time it took to complete the job and the additional money it would cost me to proceed with my changes.  I recently built a 2 story Domino’s in Georgetown, KY with Jonathan and as we were far into the project, we decided we needed to move where a door was located.  The glass and framing for that opening was already delivered and Jonathan made me aware of the time and money it would cost to change the plans, it wasn’t fast or cheap, but we felt it was necessary for the store to work properly so we went forward with the changes.

Other projects planning and zoning or inspectors have forced us to make changes that couldn’t be planned or budgeted for until they occurred.  The same building in Georgetown we were required to put in underground water retention and a grease trap under our dumpster.  Both changes significantly added to the cost of my building and project through no fault in any way of Jonathan’s.  He was fair and worked with me to try to keep my costs down and on budget despite these unforeseen expenses.

The quality of Yeagle Constracting's work is another reason I use Jonathan and Yeagle Construction for all my projects.  Jonathan hires good sub-contractors and keeps a close eye on their work.  Unlike a lot of contractors I’ve worked with in the past that don’t want the client on the job site until completion, Jonathan encourages me to come to the site regularly to walk the project and go over the blueprints with him again each time as he starts each new phase to make sure I am happy with everything so far and to make sure what the plans say are still what I want for the next phase.  I couldn’t ask for a contractor to be more open and willing to communicate and keep me, the customer, in the loop of everything that is going on.  He has told me time and time again “it’s cheaper and easier to change it now than it is after it’s done.”

One last reason I would highly recommend Jonathan is the fact that he stands behind his work.  We have had small issues from time to time after a projects completion and Jonathan has always stood behind his work.  One example is stones popping off a faux stone wall on the exterior of a building months after completion due to settling and Jonathan had people immediately out not just to glue them back on but to trouble shoot the cause.  Any problems we’ve run into Jonathan has found solutions for and fixed for us.

Jonathan Yeagle and Yeagle Contracting are not always the lowest bid or the highest bid depending upon how much work they have at that time; they are consistent and fair in their pricing.  I can trust Jonathan to shoot me straight when it comes to pricing and completing the job to the specifications laid out in the blueprints.  If he or his subs do something that strays from the blueprints, he will absorb that cost and if I want changes, he is more than fair in his changes to the pricing to accommodate what I want.  Jonathan does quality work that he stands behind and I will be using Jonathan for all my projects in the future.
